Organizing
and Political Action: Two Keys to Union Strength
As NCF&O members, our goal is to win better wages,
benefits, and working conditions.
Organizing and political action are crucial keys to our
success. Here’s why:
Organizing
As long as an employer
down the street pays lower wages, your job and your salary won’t be safe.
Organizing others in our industry who don’t have the benefit of union
jobs—and raising their standard of living—is an important way we can improve
our own jobs.
That’s why many NCF&O
members work to organize other workers. We can make a better life for our
families— better healthcare, better pay, better pensions and job security—if
we stand together and organize for strength in our Industries.
We are looking to help
improve the working conditions and wages of our working
Brothers and sisters. If
you feel that we can help you, contact us either at our phone number

Political
Action
The primary concern of
some political
Leaders are protecting
the interests of the very wealthy—at the expense of working people. If we
don’t use our membership strength to build political strength, we can’t hold
lawmakers accountable for protecting our rights or supporting the issues
important to working families.
That’s why NCF&O encourages members to be politically active. In an
age when too many politicians are controlled by millionaire special
Interests, we must work in our communities to make the issues that are
Important to working
Families widely known. We
need to
register
to vote and go to
the polls on election day. We should elect only the leaders who will stand
for our issues. And, to ensure that they do, we must hold them
accountable—every day—for improving the lives of working families.
